On Friday, October 5, 2012, fifteen Manta owners met at the Rockfish restaurant near Annapolis Maryland. Everyone was in town for the Annapolis Sailboat show — some came by boat, others by plane, and still others by car — but we all came together to meet and share stories about our sailing adventures and the Manta sailboats that we love so much.
A few of the Manta owners already knew each other from past sailing adventures, but for Michelle and me, it was a wonderful opportunity to get to know other sailors that share the same passion for their Manta Catamarans. We were all in Annapolis for the same reason – to view the latest and greatest from sailing gear manufacturers participating in the Annapolis Sailboat Show, but the opportunity to get together and swap Manta stories and ideas.
In attendance were:
- Mike Houghton – Sunshine
- Clark & Michelle Haley – Double Wide
- Rich & Carol Wellman – The Great Catsby
- Jack & Marce Schulz – Escape Velocity
- Craig & Mary Strautin – Galileo
- Dean & Chris Hearst – What If
- Erik Harraweg – Aramis
- Craig & Wendy Boyer – Anything Goes
- John Pierce – Storyteller
This was so much fun and such a great experience for Michelle and me. We can’t wait for the NEXT Manta Event! What’s that? Did I hear something about a Manta Migration in the Bahamas????
